A foundation of corporate strength
Seattle Shrimp & Seafood is a new company built upon the well established strength of two industry-leading seafood sourcing, production and import/export companies. Hanwa of Japan and E&E Foods of Seattle, Washington combined their impressive resources and experience to create Seattle Shrimp & Seafood as a joint venture in 2006. With access to the assets of both companies, Seattle Shrimp & Seafood is well positioned to be your best option for quality product, outstanding customer service and bottom line value.
E&E Foods
E&E Foods has been servicing the food industry since 1932. In 1998 their Seafood Division became the sole focus of the business and over the past eight years annual sales have increased from $9 million to $80 million.  By forming exclusive sales and marketing agreements with production facilities throughout Alaska and British Columbia, E&E Foods has significantly expanded their sourcing network and product offerings.  In 2006 E&E Foods sold approximately 26 million pounds of seafood, of which 21 million pounds were wild Alaskan salmon.  E&E Foods specializes in all five species of wild salmon, all grades and specifications.  The company also sells roe products; several fin fish species including halibut, mackerel and albacore tuna, and crab, cod and specialty products.  All products are inspected by an E&E employee prior to sale confirmation.  In trading, 56% of sales are domestic within the US and Canada; 25% are export sales to Japan and 19% are export sales to Europe and Africa.  E&E Foods is strategically positioned within the North Pacific fishery with long standing relationships with seafood suppliers from Alaska to San Diego.  Their sourcing and production network combined with the experience of their sales team, allows E&E Foods to provide the best seafood product solution, customized to buyer requirements for price, quality, yield/recovery and service.

The Hanwa seafood division holds the top trading share in the industry with a broad range of products including shrimp, crab, mackerel, horse mackerel and capelin. Large trading volume is an indication of Hanwa’s competitiveness in the seafood market. Their success comes from their emphasis on every staff member being an independent owner who must make quick decisions to buy at the catch site and sell based on their knowledge of the market. This simple approach to business is keenly effective in the short-cycle food import business. Hanwa' s powerful purchasing capabilities and strong sales network support their activities even further. Hanwa is endeavoring to diversify the seafood items it offers and has recently and successfully expanded their sales of salmon, octopus and eels.
